More than 4,000 high school students have interacted with our production Four Legs to Stand On, Act I. We’ve performed in public, private and charter schools from Woonsocket to Block Island and everywhere in-between. We have begun to employ our 2-day, arts-based, classroom curriculum in 11th grade health classes.
This fall we’re performing Four Legs to Stand On, Act II at almost all of the colleges in Rhode Island. The intention of the tour is to connect students with on-campus services, as an educational addition for relevant programs, and normalizing the conversation around addiction and recovery. We are surveying our audience members before and after performances to study perception shift and social action, we’re doing this experiment through the Theatre and Health Lab at New York University. These performance are sponsored by BHDDH.
Our brand new production Resurfacing is on tour for the first time this fall! The script was a collaboration between Paul Kandarian and his son, Paul, Harvard Medical School and the Health Story Collaborative. This story follows a father and his Veteran son and their journey through addiction, the war, and recovery. This fall we partnered with the Providence VA Hospital to offer the performance as a CEU course for clinicians in the VA system.
