Resurfacing brings to the stage the unique experiences of a father and son navigating opioid addiction. Paul Junior (playing himself), a veteran, is in recovery from opioid use disorder, now four years sober. Paul Senior is an actor (playing himself) and an activist dedicated to using his personal experience to fight the epidemic. This story follows their harrowing journey through the throws of the disease, the difficulties of treatment, and the joys of recovery.

The production is an exciting collaboration between Health Story Collaborative and COAAST (Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together). Both Paul’s wrote their stories and these two arts and healthcare organizations have helped to craft and produce its live performances.
