Our photography exhibit needs a home!

A collaboration between COAAST and Stefy Hilmer Photography. The photos depict Paul S. Kandarian an army combat veteran of the 10th Mountain Division 3rd brigade, in an intimate conversation about his journey with addiction and recovery. The photos are accompanied with quotes about the stigma of mental illness in the service, struggling with addiction, and recovery. Contact to bring this exhibit to you! Perfect for bare hospital walls or a perfect edition to a conference.

The fear of becoming that again. Being nothing, having nothing. And knowing that my friends died so that I could go home. And also my goals. That keeps me clean.
— Paul S. Kandarian, Army Veteran

An original one act performance

Resurfacing, the newest play from COAAST, explores the intimate relationship between father and son, and follows the difficulties that come with going to war and with addiction.

COAAST Actor Paul E. Kandarian and his son Paul S. Kandarian spent time in interviews with Harvard medical students this spring, discussing the poignant changes in their relationship through active addiction, deployment to war, and recovery.

COAAST founder Ana Bess Moyer Bell pieced together these interviews for a new performance piece to touch more audiences. This project was developed in partnership with Dr. Annie Brewster and Dr. Jonathan Adler from Health Story Collaborative.
